Initial Screening
Each patient's condition is unique. For this reason, an initial vein screening is done to evaluate each patient's condition so that we can recommend the appropriate treatment protocol. The following is reviewed in the initial vein screening:
- Medical History
- Visual Exam
- Recommendation for Venous Ultrasound (if needed)
- Review of Diagnosis
- Treatment Options (will depend on Ultrasound results)
Conservative treatment will be discussed further at the initial screening. All insurance companies require a minimum of 6 week conservative treatment period before they will approve a pre-determination for medical necessity. This trial period consists of wearing compression hose, elevating your legs while seated and the use of over-the-counter anti-inflammatories for pain.
